Savon de Marseille French Market Soap – Ylang Ylang.
Native to the rainforests in South-Eastern Asia, ylang-ylang or Cananga Odorata was introduced by the French into the islands of the Indian Ocean at the end of the 18th century. The powerful and floral note of this very sensual and relaxing aphrodisiac became an icon of Mayotte.
Ylang ylang oil is beautifully fragrant, with a heavy, sweet, slightly fruity floral scent. It is one of the main notes in many of the most popular fragrances today, including Chanel No. 5 and Joy Perfume. To produce this essential oil with its divine fragrance, flowers are distilled with fresh water through a still that is often heated with wood. To make one pound of oil, 55 pounds of flowers need to be distilled.
Due to its antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antiseborrheic properties, Ylang Ylang essential oil is effective in improving the appearance of the skin, clearing pimples and help treat various skin conditions.

Tip: How To Make Your French Soap Bar Last Longer
There’s something special about finding a bar soap you just absolutely love. But like all good things, you eventually reach the end, but you can learn some tricks to actually make your bar last longer.
1. Use a soap dish with slats, holes or a drainage spout to allow excess water to drain from the bar of soap. View our range of accessories here.
2. Place a sponge or loofah soap cushion in your soap dish, underneath the bar of soap. The sponge will absorb the excess soapy liquid and keep the soap dry. Remember to rinse your sponge regularly.
